The Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic reminds healthcare professionals The next dates for verification of national language control are set at 7 and 11 December 2023. In the coming months, the Ministry will also announce further deadlines according to the current interest and number of requests.
During the emergency situation related to COVID-19 disease, the conditions for completing the verification of national language control have been modified. Healthcare professionals from other countries were allowed to prove this obligation by means of an honorary declaration of national language control. Since the emergency situation was brought to an end on 15 September 2023, under the current legislation, the declaration on the control of the state language should be replaced by another document (a document on the control of the state language issued by the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic) until 15 December 2023, i.e. within 90 days of the end of the emergency situation.
The Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic checks the control of the state language with a foreigner who is interested in exercising a health profession in the territory of the Slovak Republic, upon request. Currently, the closest possible dates for verification of national language control are set at 7 and 11 December 2023. If a foreigner has passed an additional test pursuant to Law 422/2015 Z. z. z. on the recognition of evidence of education and the recognition of professional qualifications at the Slovak Medical University in Bratislava (SZU) in Slovak language, fulfilled the requirement to control the state language to the extent necessary for the exercise of the health profession.
