New list of health performances

Approved list of health performances

The Ministry of Health in cooperation with professional companies, health insurance review doctors and the Association of Health Insurance Companies of the Slovak Republic is gradually preparing new lists of health performances for individual specializations.

An approved new list of health performances for individual expertise can be found HERE.

The new list is continuously complemented by other specialization fields.

PILOT 2 Þ from 1.4.2026

Basic information

On April 1, 2026 the Ministry of Health in cooperation with the Association of Health Insurance Companies of the Slovak Republic launches a pilot operation of a new health performance list for another group of expertise:

The aim of the pilot is to obtain the most realistic description of the activities provided by the doctor and nurse in the practice, to obtain data on the frequency of new performances, to verify the timing of performances and to calculate new weights of health performances based on real data.

The length of the pilot is 1 year. The reporting phase of new performances shall be 6 months, followed by an analytical 6 months phase aimed at calculating health performance weights and adjusting performances.

The choice of pilot health care providers (specialised ambulances) is in the collection of health insurance companies, one of the basic conditions being the valid contractual relationship of the healthcare provider with all 3 health insurance companies at the date of pilot launch.

During February 2026 educational webinars will be organized for piloted specialization fields. Invitations to individual webinars will be addressed to selected healthcare providers who have been invited to cooperate on the pilot operation of the new health performance list.

Start of voluntary sharp operation (new codes, new number of points and new price of point) for all offices in the licensed expertise is planned From 1.10.2026. Draft supplements to the contracts will start to be sent by health insurance companies during September.

Basic information

On July 1, 2025, the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic and the Association of Health Insurance Companies launched a pilot operation of a new list of health performances for 5 types of specialist practice:

The aim of Pilot 1 was to get the most realistic description of the activities provided by the doctor and nurse in the practice, to get data on the frequency of new performances, to verify the time-consuming performances and to calculate new weights of health performances based on real data.

Pilot 1 course

Summary of key findings

A total of 222 ambulances were involved in Pilot 1. A total of 820 thousand new health performances were reported, with 3 basic health performances (comprehensive/targeted/control) of a total of between 20% and 33% of the total reported healthcare in piloted expertise. The analysis phase included optimization of the list of new performances, and the characteristics and rules for reporting health performances as found in the pilot were refined, missing health performances added, overly atomised performances merged into one single health performance. The review of the list of health performances was carried out in close cooperation with the members of the relevant expert working groups and review doctors from each health insurance undertaking.
New health performance has been given weight (demand) by number of points after re-assessment of the list. The parameters that entered the weight determination are the doctor's net time, the nurse's net time in medical performance, the time of use of instrument equipment, if this is the performance where the instrument is necessary. The score structure for non-instrumental performances was 50% doctor, 20% nurse, 30% directing. 70% of the health performance has a weight determined directly from pilot's actual data, which covers 99 per cent of the volume of medical care reported in the pilot. Health performances reported in the pilot less than 5 times have a weight derived from the statistical derivation method from the inputs of health insurance companies and are listed as marked by the symptom --*-- These scales are informative for the time being. In practice, they will only be used in voluntary live-in operations from 1.10.026 when health insurance companies calculate the relevant point price and agree on an overall reimbursement mechanism (including ceilinging) with associations representing providers in negotiations with health insurance companies. Weights (number of points) for general performances, which are also used in Pilot2, will be recalculated at the end of Pilot 2.
Further information is part of the presentation of the results of Pilot 1 published in the section "Documents'.

Next steps

From 1.7.2026 the so-called transitional period for ambulances included in Pilot 1 starts, which means that health insurance companies are left with a set-off, including a monthly incentive bonus of EUR 1 000. From 1.7.2026 onwards, these ambulances will report on the health care provided according to an updated health performance list, which is also published on the NCZI website.
