European reference networks (hereinafter referred to as "European reference networks')
only ÞERN-) were created in December 2016 and to date it is currently 24.
They consist of international healthcare providers within
Member States of the European Union (hereinafter "the EU') dealing with the provision of
healthcare for patients with rare diseases. Besides,
facilitate access to diagnosis and treatment of rare diseases; i
the role of a medical expert mediator among providers;
healthcare in the EU.
