The Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic does not regulate the provision of benefits to patients and therefore does not mislead or disturb them. Benefits for their policyholders are provided by health insurance companies. The so-called dental benefit didn't cancel the medical department, it was health insurance.
The incentive to review the effectiveness, purpose and cost of using dental benefits of health insurance companies came from the finance department.
He also argued that benefits are covered by public health insurance funds intended to provide healthcare. Based on the opinion and data of health insurance companies associated with the Association of Health Insurance Companies or the Health Care Supervisory Authority, it has been declared that the provision of dental benefits does not produce the desired effect in the area of increasing prevention. The number of preventive dental examinations in recent years has not grown despite the fact that health insurance companies spent more than 45 million euro on this benefit in 2023.
The health resort is continuously actively communicating with health insurance companies about the new setting of disturbed benefits. They should also be targeted to prevent the most serious cancer and cardiovascular diseases. We assume that an improved scheme of benefits for their policyholders could be presented by health insurance companies in the coming months.
