The government extended the list of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances to 14 other psychoactive substances. These substances will only be handled by a person authorised to handle narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances. On a proposal from the Department of Health, twelve substances were included between narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances. Two were included as first-group narcotics and eight among first-group psychotropics. The first group includes narcotic and psychotropic substances that are not included as active substances in the medicine and their use is only possible for research, teaching and expert activities. The remaining two substances are listed among the narcotics of the second group. Unlike the first group, these substances are found in medicines and can be used for health or veterinary care purposes. The new legislation also responds to the decision taken at the Commission meeting on narcotics to the United Nations Office for Narcotic Drugs, on the basis of which the Ministry of Health included the substance Brorfin and methonitazen among the narcotics of the first group.
