A meeting was held at the request of a patient association with haematological malignancies.
The meeting was opened by the Director General of the Department of Pharmacy and Drug Policy MUDr. Adam Hlôška.
Association of patients with haematological malignancies:
The association of patients with haematological malignancies represented by JUDr. Katarína Fedorová, Phd. considers it necessary that health insurance companies, when granting or refusing to grant consent to reimbursement of medicinal products for exemption under the ust. §88 (8) of Law No 363/2011 Z.z. , followed uniform and pre-known criteria and thus treated patients with the same diagnosis and stage of disease. As some health insurance company pays for the treatment of the patient and another patient with the same diagnosis, at the same stage of the disease, this or another health insurance company will not pay for the treatment. On the basis of this experience, the association would like to propose to amend Law No 363/2011. Z.z. on the scope and conditions of reimbursement of medicines, medical devices and dietetic foods based on public health insurance and on the amendment of certain laws, special § 88 (8). The association proposes to extend this paragraph to:
- The period in which the health insurance undertaking is obliged to express or give or not consent to the reimbursement.
- Determination of the criteria for consent or the reason for refusal.
- The possibility for the insured person to request a review of the opinion of the insurance undertaking.
For MZ SR:
We recommend that this request be presented to the Ministry in writing and then the Ministry will deal with this.
Director General MUDr. Adam Hlôška informed the deputy officer that the Ministry was acting in accordance with the applicable legislation under Law No 363/2011 Z.z. on the scope and conditions of reimbursement of medicinal products, medical devices and dietetic foods on the basis of public health insurance and on the amendment of certain laws (hereinafter referred to as the "Scope Act'). It is the interest of the Ministry that as many as possible, ideally all medicinal products should pass the system of categorisation provided for in the Law on Scope.
The meeting was concluded by the Director General of the Department of Pharmacy and Drug Policy MUDr. Adam Hlôška.
