The meeting was convened at the request of the cystic fibrosis Club o Adoption- on the re-inclusion of SOLMUCOL in the List categorized medicinal products

State Secretary MZ SR MUDr. Viliam Čislák, MPH., welcomed the present and requested their request.

Mgr. Naveňáková, Mgr. Lexa and MUDr. Oros:

  1. They stressed that the reason for their request for admission was to discuss the possibility the re-inclusion of SOLMUCOL in the list of categorised medicinal products as at 01.08. 2012.

  2. They reported the number of cystic fibrosis patients present, the success rate the need for daily use of the medicinal product in question.

  3. They stated that excluding Solmucol to the list of categorised medicinal products on 1 April 2012 with the justification for additional treatment, its full reimbursement increases costs families with cystic fibrosis that are still sufficiently high.

MUDr. Desk:

  1. It pointed out that the current legislation on medicinal products the policy does not allow the re-inclusion of the medicinal product in question in the list categorised medicinal products, since since 1.12.2011 Law No 363/2011 is in force Order No 434/2011 Listing of medicinal products for which a list of medicinal products is established for supportive or adjunctive treatment.

  2. He pointed out that the law was a generally binding law, the wording of which was binding on all natural and legal persons and does not allow for any exemption from the legal rules laid down in the law.

MUDr.Number:

  1. He stated that patients with cystic fibrosis may under § 88 (7) of the Act their health insurance undertaking may fully or partially reimburse the insured person for the medicinal product, not included in the list of categorised medicinal products.

  2. On the basis of this discussion, the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic will convene a meeting so All
    Health insurance undertakings in the presence of stakeholders for discussion above
    issues.
