Health and investment, regional development and IT departments have presented the latest challenge to support the creation of integrated healthcare centres. Thanks to the amount of 16.5 million The euro from the European Union's resources will be healthcare available directly in the regions and patients will not have to travel to doctors outside their community, but they will find everything under one roof.
On 29 April 2024 the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic announced a call for applications for non-refundable financial contribution to complement the network of integrated health care centres. An amount of EUR 16.5 million from EU resources is allocated to the call. The maximum amount of non-refundable financial contribution per project is 1,407 million. EUR. The call is intended for projects outside the Bratislava region and will be open until the allocated amount is exhausted. In the previous programming period 2014-2020, 4 calls were launched under the Integrated Regional Operational Programme. 59 such centres were created for almost 45 million. EUR.
–In integrated healthcare centres, patients will be provided with a general adult physician and, in addition, a pediatrician or gynaecologist or dentist, or a doctor with other expertise; The Minister for Health, Zuzana Dolink, approached. As she added, the concept of centers is defined so that the patient has everything under one roof and does not have to commute to another location, address or tens of kilometres to another city for examination or provision of service. –The call may require a non-refundable financial contribution for the construction of new buildings, the modernisation and reconstruction of existing buildings, the extension, the extension or the construction and reconstruction of the internal and external premises of existing buildings, as well as for the provision of materials and technical equipment, the supply of medical equipment or equipment,The Minister for Health explained.
The funds may be requested by municipalities and non-profit organisations whose founder is the municipality. The details of the call are published on the MZ SR website in the area of Eurofunds and the ITMS information monitoring system, through which applicants can participate in the call.

–As well as in the past programming period from the EU funds under our Integrated Regional Operational Programme, helped to modernise 30 health establishments for more than EUR 163 million, we are continuing our efforts to ensure that people in all regions have access to healthcare at European level; The Minister for Investment Richard Rashi said. As he added, they want to make sure that sensitive health data is safe and that hospitals are properly prepared for cyber attacks. This month MIRRI SR announced the announcement of a call from the Program Slovakia, which will support projects to increase the level of cybersecurity and information security (KIB) in health facilities The issue is underlined by the increasing hacker interest on hospitals around the world, but we also have experience in Slovakia. I will mention, for example, the 2017 incident when technicians repaired long days after cyber attack at the Faculty Hospital in Nitra or when the website of Košice hospital remained completely paralyzed in 2021 after the hacker attack, for more than 2 weeks. Neighbours from the Czech Republic had to deal with similar attacks when the hackers attacked three policlinics in Prague and one of the biggest attacks was the one at the Faculty Hospital in Brno in 2020, which shut down most health systems. It took about two months to restore them, but the consequences of the attack affected the hospital years after. This is also what we have European funds to protect hospitals from similar attacks and ensure that they are as safe as possible. Raši, Minister for Investment, concluded.
