The Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic has announced 4 new challenges to strengthen research and innovation capacities in the field of health as an intermediary body for the Slovak Programme. The total funding for these challenges amounts to EUR 96.1 million. EUR. The calls are intended for projects outside the Bratislava self-governing region.
These challenges are part of the National R & D & I Strategy for 2030 and the Strategy for Research and Innovation for Smart Specialization of SR 2021-2027 (s) and contribute to strengthening Slovakia's international position in research and innovative solutions. Overview of calls launched

  1. Support for international cooperation in R & D & I (Domain Healthy Society)This call encourages the involvement of Slovak research institutions in international biomedical projects within the European Research Area. The aim is to strengthen networking, transfer know-how and the introduction of best international practices in Slovakia. Allocation: EUR 8.5 million.
  2. Completing research infrastructures - promoting applied research and development for projects from idea to product in the Healthy Society domainThe challenge is to create a modern research environment through unique consortia bringing together the public and private sectors to generate new research and innovation activities. Allocation: EUR 50 million.
  3. Completing research infrastructure for excellent researchers in Domain Healthy SocietyThe challenge is supported by smaller research centres led by excellent researchers who will carry out top-level biomedical research. Allocation: EUR 27 million.
  4. Support for system public research infrastructure in the Health of the population domain and health technologies phase IIThe aim of this call is to complete the projects supported under the 1st phase of the Operational Programme call Integrated Infrastructure. In particular, it concerns the completion of biobank infrastructure and further optimisation of research capacities. Allocation: EUR 10.6 million.
