Main tasks:
Development of strategy and state policy in the field of protection, promotion and development of public health at the level of the Office of Public Health of the Slovak Republic (in particular: drawing up proposals for fundamental guidelines and priorities for the development of state policy in the field of public health; management of national programmes in the field of protection, promotion and development of public health; laying down principles for monitoring the burden on the population by factors of the environment and the working environment; principles for preventing, spreading and reducing the incidence of communicable diseases, other mass-occurring diseases and other health disorders; professional guidance on the protection of health and public health; management and implementation of national surveillance; management and control of the performance of the state administration in the field of health protection; issuing instructions and assessments on matters of national importance; ordering measures in and at risk of epidemics; granting consent to the production, import and use of vaccines, sera, biological diagnostic preparations, etc.; management and organisation of vaccination and emergency vaccination; expertly Regolament methodical management of regional public health authorities and individual organisational units of the ÚVZ SR.)
