Minister of Health Zuzana Dolinková has appointed the CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Všeobecná zdravotná poisťovňa, a. s. Michal Ďuriš and member of the board of directors of Ing. Matej Fekete MBA. They were selected on the basis of a selection procedure from the end of March 2024.
The selection procedure for the appointment of a member of the board of directors of the company - the chairman of the board of directors and the appointment of members of the board of directors of the company Všeobecná zdravozné poisťovňa, a.s. took place on 27 March 2024. Subsequently, under the applicable legislation, the Health Care Supervisory Authority gave its prior consent to the choice of the chairman and member of the insurance board.
Following the outcome of the selection procedure, Minister of Health Zuzana Dolinková appointed the Director General and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Všeobecná poisťovňa a.s. doc. with effect from 11 April 2024. PhDr. JUDr. Michal Duriš, PhD. It has been temporarily run by the institution since 11 January 2024 and has also been active in various positions within the insurance company between 2016 and 2020. Ing. Matej Fekete MBA was elected to the position of board member. The third member of the board of directors of the VZP is waiting for the consent of the PES.
The Minister for Health has wished the management of the largest health insurance company success in fulfilling the difficult tasks ahead. –The general health insurance company with the largest number of insured persons plays an important role in the provision of healthcare. The management of the insurance company will continue to stabilise the functioning of the insurance company, streamline the operation of the institution, improve the processes and take steps to eliminate the departure of insured persons, said Minister for Health Zuzana Dolinková.
–The priority for us will first of all jointly finalise a long-term strategic vision for the stabilisation and development of insurance companies. Our policyholders deserve affordable and quality health care and services corresponding to the 21st century. Therefore, our aim is to build a modern, stable and efficient institution that is a reliable partner of our policyholders and healthcare providers. –This is also the largest network of branches in Slovakia and hundreds of employees who take care of our policyholders every day bring ideas on how to improve and improve services, leading difficult negotiations with our partners.
