The government of the Slovak Republic approved the material at today's meetingThe Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic, according to which the National University Hospital in Bratislava will be situated in the town district of Ružinov. According to the approved resolution, it is also planned to use the site in Rázsoch for the construction of the new National Institute of Children's Diseases. Both solutions are based on available analyses, expert discussions and take into account in particular the time and financial availability and effectiveness of these healthcare facilities for patients.
The Ministry of Health of Hospitals presented projects to members of the ORs, dean of medical faculties, professional organisations and associations active in the health sector before submitting for the government discussion. After more than 40 years, our goal is to bring patients and healthcare professionals the final modern hospitals of the 21st century, said Minister for Health Zuzana Dolinková. I believe that the interest of the entire professional and general public in health care is the same - in the shortest possible time and in the most cost-effective way possible to deliver to patients and healthcare professionals from all over Slovakia a new terminal hospital, Minister Dolink added. After the implementation of the projects, patients of all ages will be provided with state-of-the-art medical facilities, which will simultaneously serve the education of doctors and young doctors and nurses.
The decision of the Department of Health to propose the construction of both hospitals in given locations is based on the architectural study of Amberg Engineering Slovakia s.r.o. Architectural study estimates the completion of construction by the end of 2031 at the National University Hospital in Bratislava and the National Institute of Children's Diseases. The university hospital would have 1015 beds at its disposal in the reconstructed part and newly built and in Bratislava there would be a total of 1800 beds. The new children's facility will provide beds for 446 patients.

National University Hospital in BratislavaBratislava - Ružinov city district adapts and uses the project RázsochyLocality in Ružinov is easily accessible by various means of transport including public transport, cycling, walking, but also by car transport via the motorway. Availability is a key factor in deciding on the suitability of the site. With a total area of 13.5 hectares, the Ružinov Hospital has a large plot of land, surrounded by Ružinovská Street from the north, Poliklinika Ružinov and Lake from the east, school, pre-school and sports facilities from the south and the Winter Stadium V. Dzurilla from the west. Transport connections to the superior transport system with smooth traffic take only about 7 minutes. The planned land use is in line with the urban planning. The current layout of the buildings of Ružinov Hospital does not provide sufficient room for optimization of medical and logistical processes and effective operation. As optimal for the current health situation of the capital, reconstruction and expansion of the existing hospital are offered.
Renovation of the block is recommended D and its adaptation to long-term bed care and completion of a new hospital in the ice stadium area, which will be connected to the existing hospital by a bridge. At the reconstruction of the block D and its adaptation to long-term bed care and completion of a new hospital in the ice stadium area will make maximum use of the documentation produced. This will allow the location of this part of the hospital in a separate building with direct access to the external environment and green area, while ensuring better quality of services and comfort for patients, all with the best use of public funds. At the same time, the proposed site has the space to build an educational background in the form of campus, as proposed in the locality Rázsochy. In the context of the training of the next generation of healthcare professionals, it is necessary to provide modern and innovative premises not only for the treatment of patients, but also for the education of medical professionals, nurses and other health professionals.
National Institute of Child DiseasesBratislava is an adaptation of the existing medical concept of NÚDCH to the current project Rázsochy. The location of Rázsochy is a historically designated area for the construction of the hospital, while in direct vicinity there are no surrounding buildings and objects. The territory is connected to the city circuit and the motorway that passes through the city. The construction of such a national institute would allow centralization of selected highly specialised paediatric medicine in Slovakia, taking into account trends of paediatric medicine and the timeless concept of healthcare provision.
The Ministry of Health, in cooperation with other departments, is looking for appropriate resources and alternatives to project financing. At the same time, it will be necessary to present to the government the concept of the development of end-of-health facilities, feasibility studies and to take all steps towards the implementation of the construction investment plan.NUNB1.jpgNUNB2.jpgNUNB3.jpgNUDCH 1.jpg
