The State Medicine Control Institute will lead from February PharmDr. Peter Potúček, PhD., MSc. The Director and Secretary-General of the Office shall replace PharmDr. Zuzana Baťa. Peter Potúček will lead the institute until the completion of the regular selection procedure. PharmDr. Peter Potúček, PhD., MSc. graduated from the Pharmaceutical Faculty of Comenius University in Bratislava, and he also drew his expertise at the University of Rome, Italy. He worked between 2005 and 2010. He also gained professional experience in several management positions in the commercial sector. I come to an environment that is familiar to me, which I consider to be an advantage, because at the time of a pandemic it is necessary for the right decisions to be able to navigate quickly. Within COVID-19 it is also important to continuously monitor trends and to be in close contact with the European Medicines Agency and other professional authorities. I believe that even in cooperation with the Ministry of Health we will bring modern and safe medicines to people in Slovakia, just as we will be as the State Institute for Drug Control responsiblely fulfilling our role in the system," said PharmDr. Peter Potúček, PhD., MSc.
