In connection with the increase in subjects offering patients the provision of prescription drugs, the SWD of patients warns that such medicinal products may be dispensed only in pharmacies or statutory health establishments, and can only be done by a person who has obtained the appropriate higher education.
To put it simply, dispensing a prescription medicinal product takes place between the pharmacist and the patient and the pharmacist is responsible for the accuracy of dispensing the medicinal product. –Medical care may be provided only by a person authorised to do so. The activities of entities without authorisation to provide medical care that procure medicinal products for patients are not supported by the Act on Medicinal Products, warns Peter Potúček, director of the State Institute.
Medicinal product subject to medical prescription is a set of actions by the pharmacist which includes in particular:- a check of the accuracy of the medical data provided with the patient data provided in the prescribing report, - a check of the accuracy of the dosage, - a warning of special warnings or adverse drug reactions, - an indication of the patient's choice of alternative human medicinal product or the amount of the patient's surcharge.
At the same time, the SWD draws patients' attention to the risks associated with such procurement of medicinal products, where the requirements of good medical practice may not be complied with. In many cases, these may be illegal treatment and the patient does not have a guarantee that the medicines have been properly stored, that they are effective and safe, or that they are not counterfeit.
"Detail medicine in the pharmacy is the kind of healthcare provided by the pharmacist to the patient. Like a medical professional examination, it is not possible to obtain a prescription from another person instead of a pharmacist or patient. This is illegal and, moreover, poses considerable risks to the patient, such as the delivery of a defective or even falsified medicinal product, incorrect instruction on the use of the medicinal product, misuse of personal data and many others, adds Peter A creek.
