On 6 September 2016, the European Medicines Agency (EMA) committees, the directors of the EU pharmaceutical agencies and working groups operating within the network were discussed in Bratislava. This is the so-called "Presidential meeting" under the auspices of the State Institute for Drug Control in SK PRES.
The meeting was attended by the Director General of the Department of Pharmacy and Drug Policy of the Slovak Republic Matej Petrovič. During the Slovak presidency of the Council of the EU, from July to December 2016, these meetings will be seven in Slovakia. In particular, they aim to exchange information between drug agencies, procedures and processes in dealing with individual tasks, but also to raise topical issues that should be addressed in the field of drug regulation. One of the current topics is the lack of availability of medicines.
