The treatment room for long-term sick in Štiavnička will undergo a complex reconstruction. It is a key facility that provides care for the most vulnerable for the entire region - the only one of its kind in the territory of four districts: Liptovský Mikuláš, Ružomberok, Martin and Turčianske Teplice.
The reconstruction of the treatment for the long-term ill in Štiavnička is not only about walls, windows or modern equipment. It is, above all, about the people, the dignity of those who spend their most vulnerable moments here, the hope for their families, and the support for all the employees of this facility who do extremely demanding and self-sacrificing work every day. said Minister of Health Kamil Šaško.
The facility accepts patients, of whom up to 80% have mobility disorders and 60% are mentally altered. In the past, the objects have undergone only partial reconstructions and necessary repairs and are now no longer in line with current medical and social care requirements. Modernization is therefore essential.
The aim of the planned reconstruction is to create a modern facility with emphasis on long-term treatment with a capacity of 40 beds. At the same time, capacity for new additional functions such as hospice care - 40 beds, rehabilitation services and recreation area, or accommodation facilities for related clients of the facility will be created.
The reconstruction will take place in two stages and the facility will remain fully functional and will not restrict current patients. The first stage of the work is to be completed in the first half of 2029 and the completion of the reconstruction of the whole complex is planned in the first half of 2031. This significant investment will result not only in modern premises but also in greater comfort for patients and a better working environment for medical staff.
