Nurses and midwives will receive exactly the same amount guaranteed by the Minister of Health Kamil Šaško. Stabilisation contribution On 12 February 2026 in an accelerated legislative procedure approved by the National Council of the Slovak Republic. Every nurse and midwife working in institutional health care will receive a stabilisation allowance of EUR 3000 for 2026. This amount will be subject only to taxation - without levy.
The entire amount will be paid to nurses and midwives, and it will just be reduced to a lower number of months. This allowance will be paid to nurses and midwives during 2026, on a monthly basis, by paying the first part of the stabilisation allowance to the nurse or midwife in April 2026 to pay for the month of March worked and the last part will be paid in November 2026 for the month of October worked.
The purpose of the stabilisation allowance is to support the long-term stabilisation of the occupation of nurses and midwives working in institutional health care. The Ministry of Health will continue to develop comprehensive system measures to support health personnel, including improving working conditions and modernising educational capacity.
Several variants were available. All solutions, including without levy burden, were also presented to the Nurses and Midwives' Trade Association at the meeting before the programme decree was sent to the inter-ministerial commentary procedure together with the pluses and minuses of each possible solution. We have come to the final setting of the stabilisation contribution on the basis of the settlement of the comments made on the draft programme decree for 2026.
