The aim of the working meeting held on 8 - 10 January 2019 in Humenné was to support care providers in the process of implementing newly approved standards for nursing, - the commission of MZ SR for the creation, implementation and revision of standard diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and signed by the Minister of Health, from 1 January 2019. The participants of the meeting became familiar with the development of standard diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, the intentions of the activity in question, its need for implementation into internal quality management systems of organisations, benefits, as well as the limits and methodology of NQRM, the measurement of the effect of using standards in practice. The meeting also included presentation of concrete experiences of DOS employees and ZSS Sunny House Humenné with implementation of standards and TQM. At the end of the meeting a workshop, discussion, accumulation of incentives to support effective implementation took place. The contribution of the workshop was to inform the participants in the process of implementing nursing standards into practice about the methodology, the validity of the initial pilot phase, which will be implemented at least the first half of 2019 in selected health and social facilities in Slovakia.
