The Ministry of Health, in cooperation with the Ministry of the Interior, announces a subsidy call for improving access to health care for the inhabitants of small municipalities. Nearly two million euros will be sent to buy social taxis for immobile citizens and defibrillators. The municipalities combined in shared service centres can apply for money and one municipality can receive a subsidy of up to 95 thousand Euro. Applications may be submitted from 15 June to end July 2026.
A person who has not yet been able to get into the examination will get it. Senior won't have to postpone the check-up just because he has no way of getting a doctor. A family that doesn't have a car won't be left alone. And along with vehicles we bring defibrillators to the villages. In sudden cardiac arrest, minutes decide. When the defibrillator is in the village and people can use it, it can be the difference between life and death before the ambulance arrives, said Minister of Health Kamil Šaško.
Today is proof that, in cooperation with ministries, resortism goes to the other side, a common challenge shows that support for cooperating towns and villages is the solution. Each euro of this challenge will translate into greater service availability and better quality of life in the regions. It is a demonstration that support for cooperating municipalities is not a theory, but a practical solution that produces results. stressed the State Secretary of the Interior Department and the Deputy Prime Minister for the Regional Government of Michal Kaliňák. Municipalities located at the centre of shared services can participate in the call. In order to improve access to healthcare for their citizens, they will be able to purchase vehicles serving seniors, needy citizens and disabled citizens for medical examination for at least three associated municipalities. At the same time, they can get defibrillators from the challenge as a first aid in saving life until the ambulance arrives. If this device is available directly in the village and the locals know how to use it, the time to first aid may be significantly reduced, which will increase the patient's chances of survival.

The purchase of a car and defibrillator will thus significantly help improve the quality of life of the inhabitants of small municipalities, especially where healthcare is more distant. At the same time, it will also help to increase the community's ability to react in accidents, sudden health complications or other emergencies before the arrival of professional rescuers. The sustainability of the project is for five years and the health sector believes that the centres will continue to do so.Ministerstvo zdravotníctva v spolupráci s rezortom vnútra vyhlasuje výzvu na zlepšenie dostupnosti zdravotnej starostlivostiMinisterstvo zdravotníctva v spolupráci s rezortom vnútra vyhlasuje výzvu na zlepšenie dostupnosti zdravotnej starostlivosti
