The project of the new University Hospital Bratislava in the locality Rázsochy is closer to the realization. The Ministry of Health has signed a contract with the public procurement winner to ensure a comprehensive project preparation. The new hospital will have a capacity of 653 beds in the first stage; in the second phase, the project will count on a possible extension of another 500. The hospital will also serve as an educational and research centre. For a long time, the underdeveloped hospital of Rázsochy was a symbolic monument to the problems of Slovak health. Building a modern, high-quality hospital of supra-regional importance will also be the symbolic opening of a new chapter in patient care, said Vladimir Lengvarsky, Minister for Health. Public procurement was announced in 2019, 11 candidates participated in the tender and the winner was the group of suppliers Amberg Engineering Slovakia and CED Consulting. The total price for the complete project documentation is 16.68 million Euro with VAT, while the resources from the Recovery and Resilience Plan will be used for the financing. The winner will, among other things, prepare an urban-architectonic study, project documentation of the building project itself, both for the permits for the construction and project documentation for the choice of the general contractor of the building including medical and non-medical equipment. The expected delivery of the supporting parts of the documentation is within 390 days of signing the contract. The construction of the new University Hospital Bratislava in Rázsochy was approved by the government on 1 July 2022. The construction of the hospital itself to the level of gross construction should be completed in 2026. The new university hospital will improve the quality of not only healthcare provided - it will also serve medical students as a modern environment for full-fledged education. Slovakia needs quality doctors. It must create adequate conditions for their study. I believe that a modern and effective university hospital is a key investment in this areaVladimir Lengvarsky concluded.
