The conditions for recognition of the education of Ukrainian pediatricians in Slovakia are simplified. The changes will allow the full involvement of pediatricians from Ukraine, but also from third countries, if they are interested, in our health system. We created a system to increase the number of pediatricians in offices in Slovakia, informed the temporarily appointed Prime Minister Eduard Heger, who is currently responsible for the management of the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic.
Ukrainian pediatricians will be able to pass the proficiency test in Ukrainian or Russian. They will be able to enter temporary professional internships and work in ambulances or hospitals as graduates of Slovak medical faculties after successful completion of the proficiency exam.
They will also be able to go to an additional examination which will result in the recognition of the general physician title valid throughout the EU, stated the Prime Minister. Slovakia also reduces the fee for examinations to make them more accessible to interested parties. State Secretary MZ SR Michal Palkovič added that the program is set so that other specialties will be available.SIMPLIFIED CONDITIONS FOR RECOGNITION OF EDUCATION IN UKRAINE PEDIATORS
The process will consist of the following steps:
- Recognition of evidence of education for the exercise of a regulated profession by a doctor. The Ministry of Education will issue a decision within two months.
- Examination of competence - consists of a written test and takes place in Ukrainian or Russian. The Ministry of Education will issue decisions within one month.
- Language training (optional)
- Temporary traineeship (optional)
- Additional examination at the Slovak Medical University in Bratislava
- Occupational exercise doctor without specialization
- Recognition of a specialisation document or inclusion in a specialisation study
- Occupational exercise doctor specialist.
