The Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic evaluated the subsidy call to support the protection of patients' rights for the year 2026, which serves to purchase motor vehicles and defibrillators. The subsidy of up to 95 thousand was obtained by ten municipalities, which are the headquarters of shared service centres. Total purchase of motor vehicles and defibrillators will be 886 thousand Euro. Support is intended to improve access to health care for older people, disabled citizens and other vulnerable groups of the smaller municipalities.

–I am pleased that this challenge has succeeded because it significantly improves the quality of life of the population, especially where healthcare is more remote. Seniors or families without a car will no longer have to postpone a doctor's visit or seek a ride for examination. And thanks to the defibrillator they can feel safer in their village, because the device on the spot can save life in sudden cardiac arrestmr Kamil Šaško, Minister for Health, who intends to continue similar activities for the inhabitants of the regions. To the success of the pilot project, we will establish a system of assistance in regions where -Health on wheels- will help people and improve their access to healthcareadded the minister.

The municipalities, which are the headquarters of shared service centres, could be involved in the call. Ten applicants entered the call and received grants from almost 65 thousand to 95 thousand Euro after evaluation of the call. They will receive funding: Gemerská Poloma, Giraltovce, Liptovský Hrádok, Margecany, Medzilaborce, Sabinov, Sečovce, Špišská Stará Ves, Stará Ľubovňa and Veľké Kapušany.

The shared service centres are a roof for expertise and address of the joint service for nearly 700 municipalities. This project also confirmed the interest of municipalities to join together for common services for people. I am delighted that thanks to Minister Kamil Šaška, we can expand services that will help people at the level of micro-regionssays Minister of State for the Interior and Government Commissioner Michal Kaliňák.

In order to improve access to healthcare for their citizens, successful applicants will be able to buy vehicles that serve seniors, needy citizens and disabled citizens for medical examination for at least three associated municipalities. At the same time, they can get defibrillators from the challenge, which will help to increase the ability to react in accidents, sudden health complications or other emergencies before the arrival of professional rescuers.
