The State is acting responsibly to prevent the new coronavirus. In the light of a crisis staff meeting under the leadership of Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini, responsible for the Ministry of Health, concrete actions are being implemented gradually. One of them is preventive exercises in selected hospitals in case they hospitalize a patient suspected of coronavirus. The exercises follow the procedures determined by the guidance of the main hygiene of the Slovak Republic Ján Mikas. One of the exercises took place last week at the F. D. Roosevelt Faculty Hospital in Banská Bystrica on Friday. This was a modular case where a woman with headaches and respiratory problems signed up for urgent reception. Exercise has shown how to isolate and investigate such a patient under increased safety conditions. During the exercise, health workers in contact with a possible infected patient wore protective clothing and isolation rooms after being transferred to the infectious compartment thoroughly disinfected, as did all the premises in which the patient was located. The hospital staff had already had this experience in real life when they hospitalized two people who had been resurrected from China with suspicion of coronavirus. They also attended a similar exercise at L. Pasteur University Hospital in Košice, where they again created a modular situation with a male patient. A patient with a real suspicion of coronavirus infection remains quarantined for 14 days and is followed by chods to check for coronavirus presence.
