Minister of Health of the Slovak Republic Zuzana Dolinková appointed Juraj Smatana, MBA, MPH as Director of the Faculty Hospital with the Polyclinic J. A. Reiman Prešov MUDr. Juraj Smatana. It is appointed for a fixed period, until the post has been filled by a successful tenderer in accordance with the provisions of § 5 (9) of Act No. 552/2003 Coll. on the performance of public service tasks, as amended.
Juraj Smatana is a graduate of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Pavol Jozef Šafárik in Košice. He conducted a specialized trial in the field of injury surgery. He studied management in health and safety management. Between 2001 and 2020 he worked in FNsP J. A. Reimana Prešov in several positions, from secondary doctor to deputy primary to medical director. He has extensive experience in medical management positions. The head of the health department also recalled on 6 December 2023 in accordance with the provision of § 100 (2) of Act No. 578/2004 Coll. on Health Care Providers, Health Care Professionals, Health Organisations and amending certain laws as amended from the post of the current director of FNsP J. A. Reiman Prešov Ing. Ľubomír Šarník.
