The decree of the Ministry of Health, which defines the amounts of expenditure on individual types of healthcare in the budget for individual health insurance companies for the year 2024 (the so-called "programming decree"), was published today in the Code of Laws. For institutional health care, this is an increase of 19.30 percent compared to the expected reality of December 2023, for general outpatient healthcare it will travel 7.43% more and for specialised outpatient healthcare 11.36% more. The minimum total amount for medical devices is 12.44% more.
The Ministry of Health is always looking for options and austerity measures to optimise the entire healthcare system and bring in additional financial resources and maximum value for money. According to the success of the implementation of the austerity measures, it will be possible to transfer these saved resources, which we estimate up to 98 million. As we have already said, it is also for outpatient health care.
In the second half of 2024, the Ministry's ambition is to launch a pilot project of a new health performance catalogue for selected specializations. The basis of the whole project is primarily to ensure fair funding for all outpatient specialties, with the aim of increasing the availability of care and reducing waiting times. Specialisations currently underfunded are a priority.
In 2024, additional resources beyond the scenario, without policy changes, will also be provided to hospitals that perform other important functions, up to 191 million. EUR.
