Minister healthyZuzana Dolinková appointed Martin MUDr. Peter Durný, PhD. MPH as director of the University Hospital from 10 January 2024. It is appointed for a fixed period, until the post has been filled by a successful tenderer in accordance with the provisions of § 5 (9) of Act No. 552/2003 Coll. on the performance of public service tasks, as amended.
At the same time, on 9 January 2024, the head of the health department recalled, in accordance with the provision of § 100 (2) of Act No. 578/2004 Coll. on Health Care Providers, Health Care Professionals, Health Organisations from the post of the current director of the University Hospital Martin MUDr. Ivan Kocan, PhD. MHA. MUDr. Peter Durný, PhD. MPH is a graduate of the Jeseni Medical Faculty Martin, UK Bratislava. He specialises in the field of surgery and neurosurgery, as well as medical management and financing. Since 2004 he has been active at the Neurosurgery Clinic of the Central Military Hospital SNP Ružomberok. Until 2008 he was a representative of the Mayor of the Clinic, from 2008 to 2014 he was the head of this clinic and since 2014 he is the chief of the Neurosurgery Clinic of the Central Military Hospital SNP Ružomberok. Previously he worked as a doctor in the Hospital with the Polyclinic Žilina or Faculty Hospital with the Polyclinic Martin.
