It received nomination in this category for exemplary employment of Roma and their subsequent support in achieving qualification requirements and increasing employment directly in communities. An active approach to improving the health of populations of segregated communities is important.
Organisation Healthy regions is an example of how a successful programme certified in the practice of the third sector can operate under the heading of the State Contribution Organisation of the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic. The main focus is on the efforts of all stakeholders to maintain and help understand the importance and importance of implementing activities with the maximum involvement and participation of citizens from the environment of marginalised Roma communities in this process, stressed the director of Healthy regions Tatiana Hrustič. Healthy regions are not a classic business employer and use European Social Fund financial resources to maintain jobs. Due to the number of employees, which is more than 350 with more than 90% of employees from marginalised Roma communities from the whole territory of the Slovak Republic, he has been a leader in this area since 2017 and not only in Slovakia but also in Europe. In addition to employment, the organisation places great emphasis on the ongoing training of employees and the promotion of their professional growth, increasing the formal level of education, raising living standards and building human capacity directly in marginalised Roma communities.The Roma Award Spirit is of great importance for the organisation of Healthy Regions as well as the founder of the Slovak Republic, and it is also a great commitment to continue and develop our activities in the next period. said the Director.
Organisation Healthy regions is a state contribution organization of the Ministry of Health, whose mission is to implement and develop temporary health countervailing measures.
