The Minister of Health of the Slovak Republic Kamil Šaško and the President of the Union of Outpatient Providers signed a memorandum today (11 June 2025) on the premises of the health department. The common objective is to create the conditions for affordable, quality and economically sustainable outpatient care for the benefit of the patient.
With the signing of this memorandum, we have clearly established with the representatives of the outpatient sector what we want to do and in what timeframe to make the functioning of the outpatient sector more efficient. We have defined a framework for our cooperation with providers, with the aim of bringing together improvements for doctors and patients, and Kamil Šaško, the Minister for Health, said.
Both parties agreed to set up a joint implementation group with a clear mandate and a precise timetable. They split priorities into short, medium and long-term. MZ SR has committed to the launch of the pilot project of the new Performance Catalogue with the providers proposed by ZAP and legislative adjustment with the aim of real use of additional office hours as well as other changes. Outpatient providers will provide professional synergies to the Ministry and will actively engage in the preparation of measures.
The Association of Outpatient Providers welcomes the fact that the Ministry of Health is finally taking on a number of our long-term proposals and making binding declarations on concrete steps, urgently needed to ensure functional outpatient health care, and stated the President of the Association of Outpatient Providers Jaroslav Orosová. At the same time, he expects these commitments to remain not only a promise and the SR MZ will make every effort to put them into practice. ZAP will consistently insist that the measures taken are translated into reality and improve the day-to-day conditions of healthcare provision for both providers and patients.
