The Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic conducts an audit of public procurement in subordinate organizations and in its own direction. The aim is to avoid any possible irregularities or suspicion of inefficiency in the procurement of goods and services.
The long-term objective of the Slovak Ministry of Health is that health funds should serve only Slovak patients and be spent as little as possible on service activities, says Spokeswoman Veronika Daničová.
Possible irregularities in the assessment and implementation of public procurement were brought to the attention of employees of the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic. On 12 January 2026 the Minister for Health ordered an audit of public procurement in his own direction and, in the event of any errors, the Minister for Health will incur both material and personnel responsibility.
