The Institute of Health Analysis has published an update of the Strategic Framework for Health Care. Further reforms and investments are essential for improving health care. At the same time, there is a need for regular monitoring of the health system, without which it is impossible to develop either high-quality long-term strategies or to set priorities for the next periods. Monitoring messages will not be generated behind closed doors. The results will be evaluated by a committee with representatives from healthcare professionals, healthcare providers, patients and others. The monitoring reports shall include an evaluation of the predefined measures and indicators. This will give the Ministry of Health an effective tool to monitor long-term developments while at the same time being able to set targets flexibly for the years ahead. says Matej Mišík, director of the Institute of Health Analysis.
According to him, the document follows a new situation, when the government adopted a number of new strategies, which are key pillars of improving Slovak health. Flagships in this process are primarily the Recovery and Resilience Plan or the Operational Programme Slovakia 2021 2027.
However, when preparing the material, we relied on monitoring not to follow the closed door of the resort. On the contrary, we want our partners to participate as much as possible in the preparation of the annual reports, including from real practice, continues Matej Mišík, director of the Institute of Health Analysis.
The results achieved will thus be evaluated annually by a monitoring committee composed of representatives of patient organisations, health workers' professional organisations, healthcare providers, municipalities, health insurance companies and the Ministry. It is the Commission that can propose to complement the measures and priorities of the department as appropriate. This type of information will be a particularly useful starting point for the formulation of priorities for the following year, but also for the implementation of the milestones defined in the Recovery and Resilience Plan, the Mišík closes.
The opinion of the monitoring committee, together with the monitoring reports, will be published annually by the Ministry of Health on its website https://mzsr.sk/?Strategia-v-sanitary. It is already possible to find in the section the current version of the Strategic Health Care Framework 2014-2020 and its previous version of 2013.
