Stabilisation allowances for healthcare professionals (excluding doctors) under institutional health care and emergency services will be exempted from health and social security contributions. This follows from the agreed amendment to the amendment to the Health Insurance Act. Thus, the contribution of EUR 5000 will be subject only to taxation.
–I am pleased that the members of the National Council of the Slovak Republic voted in favour of legislation, thanks to which health workers will receive more money than if this amendment had not passed in parliament. This contribution is one of the steps that will help us in our efforts to stabilise medical personnel. This way, at least in part, we want to express our thanks to healthcare professionals for their commitment and self-sacrificing work for patients, said Minister of Health Vladimir Lengvarský.
The government has approved funds to stabilise healthcare workers in the framework of institutional health care and emergency medical services ambulances through a stabilisation allowance - a contribution for 25 health professions, with the exception of doctors.
The Ministry prepared a draft agreement on the granting of a stabilisation contribution, which was subject to a number of changes, also taking into account the facts that emerged in the preparation of this material. The agreement takes into account the amount of the earmarked stabilisation contribution of EUR 5 000, which, as a result of the current legislation, is defined as the total price of work (gross wage with employer contributions). The aim of health and finance resorts, despite the difficult situation, is to provide health care professionals with funding in 2022 and therefore an advance of €2 500 will be paid by 31 December 2022, which will be credited to the employee's account and can be fully available to him. As Parliament has approved the amendment, only the advance on tax will be deducted from the total amount and the remaining amount will be paid in wages for December 2022 in January (2023) payment period (estimated at around EUR 1 500).
