The Ministry of Health will present a comprehensive proposal to increase the salaries of all health professionals in the constitutional health care facilities and health emergency clinics for the government's discussion tomorrow. Ten years later, the highest wage increases for health professionals in the global are at stake. At the same time, the resort brings further systemic changes to the implementation phase, which will improve Slovak health.

The health system in Slovakia has suffered from absolute immobility for the last decade, problems have become more acute from year to year. We have therefore prepared comprehensive system solutions over the last year. We are now entering the second phase and putting the proposed solutions into practice. declared Vladimir Lengvarsky.

According to the Minister of Health, increasing the assessment of our health professionals is the first and one of the most important steps. In preparing complex system changes, the resort has given a lot of weight to the voice of colleagues from hospitals, ambulances or hospital pharmacies who face problems of Slovak health every day. The increase was preceded by months of negotiations with all stakeholders. There is a specific result on the table today. We jump to eliminate the great injustice to our colleagues. I am sure that, in 2023, raising the salaries of our colleagues will not stop and will continue, says Minister of State for Health Lenka Dunajová Družkovská. It notes, however, that the increase, for example, in the salaries of doctors in 2023 will be even higher than in total over the previous three years. In particular, for example, doctors with specialization and experience 20 years or more will receive a salary of over 3 000 euros without extras, the starting doctor without specialization and practice will increase the salary by 279 euros gross. At the same time, the Ministry also prepared changes in the recognition of working years in the health sector. New years of working abroad in health care will also be included and part of the period of maternity and parental leave up to six years will also be accepted for salary evaluation purposes.

According to the Department, a complex increase in health pay is only one of many necessary steps to remedy health problems. In parallel with ensuring fair valuation for its colleagues, the Ministry has submitted and presented additional systemic changes that will help significantly improve the current situation. Last year, the Ministry took over the implementation agenda of the DRG system, which will replace the current flat-rate compensation and ensure a fair system of financing for individual medical operations. A reform of health insurance has been launched. Prepared changes will eliminate discrimination of more than 120,000 patients who do not have access to healthcare today. At the same time, more resources will be made available to health through an increase in payments for State policyholders. Another important systemic step is drug reform. Thanks to this, Slovak patients will get to the relevant innovative medicines, which will improve care from another point of view. states State Secretary Róbert Babeľa. At the same time, the resort is also actively working on the implementation of the recovery and resilience plan, while most of the legislative milestones have already been implemented. The Ministry managed to move the construction of the new flagship of the Slovak health care centre, the University Hospital Bratislava, in the locality Rázsochy. There will be a new hospital in Martin. The resort also prepares the renovation of rescue stations and finishes work on the call for a new network of hospitals.

Despite the pandemic, we started the processes and changes that Slovak health has been waiting for years. The question of health care professionals being evaluated is one of the broad spectrum of problems we face. Nevertheless, I am pleased that we have managed to find an agreement on the fairer salaries of our colleagues. In particular, if this has been achieved in the worst possible economic situation, when energy prices are rising, the threat of recession is openly referred to, and the economy is still not shaken by the pandemic, closed Vladimir Lengvarsky.
