The Minister of Health of the Slovak Republic Zuzana Dolinková visited the Cardiology Department at the Faculty Hospital Trenčín today, July 29, 2024. She has been personally informed about the situation and has considered the information that has been provided in recent days to be misinformation and the dissemination of alarm messages. I was informed without delay by the hospital management of the statements made by four doctors, I repeat again, representing a total performance of almost 1.5 doctors, and 1 full-time doctor. Since July, 3 doctors have joined the department, the hospital is currently negotiating the onset of other doctors, Zuzana Dolinková, the health minister, approached.
Faculty Hospital Trenčín has a cardiological department with 8 beds in place, whose activity and implementation I highly appreciate; and provide urgent medical care for patients with acute coronary syndrome from June 2023 on working days from 7:00 to 13:00. Outside this time, all patients with such diagnoses are automatically directed to highly specialised workplaces In Banská Bystrica, Martin, Nitra and Bratislava. The statistics are clear, for one week, between one and three such patients are treated in the listed cardiological department of the Faculty Hospital Trenčín.
This is not a cardiology centre, as opposition politicians misleadingly report. It has completely different parameters and capacities (namely 80 or more beds, 2 to 3 halls, works 24 hours 7 days a week). We are talking about the cardiological department, and today I have seen with my own eyes a functional department whose course is fluently secured, patients and treating physicians. Moreover, there is potential to increase the capacity of the department, but gradually, Minister Dolinková approached, who during her visit also thanked all doctors, nurses and healthcare professionals in this department for their commitment and medical care. To the fact that the patient is in the 1st place for the current coalition, he finally committed himself to the Programme Statement of the Government of the Slovak Republic for the years 2023-2027, where she clearly stated that health is the highest human value. A functional, accessible and quality health system for all citizens of Slovakia is therefore an absolute priority for it.

The Committee of the Intervention Cardiology Working Group of the Slovak Cardiology Society also decided to stop the dissemination of panic and false information. His members of the medical department informed that they were in contact with and expressed confidence in the new hospital management as well as the new primary of the local cardiology.
