The number of Covid-19 cases in the world is increasing again, and their increased numbers are also recorded by Slovakia, but this is not yet a rapid increase. When assessing the development of an epidemic situation, experts assess not only the number of cases but also the severity of the diseases reflected in the number of hospitalised patients.

At the time of summer holidays, therefore, caution and responsible behaviour are particularly appropriate. Although most diseases on Covid-19 do not have a difficult course, it should not be underestimated due to the variability of the virus.

The measures in force so far should be respected. The consensus of experts therefore makes a number of recommendations based on effective measures so far that can help us protect ourselves and our surroundings:

1. Let's test for symptoms

In case of symptoms of any upper respiratory tract disease with symptoms of cold, cough, sore throat with temperature, let's stay at home, let's leave the disease alone and not carry the infection. Let's do a self-test. In case of difficult condition, contact your doctor who may indicate the need for PCR testing.

2. Use a drape or respirator

In places with high concentration of people, such as, for example, cultural events, departure and arrival halls, waiting rooms, etc., let's use a cloak or respirator (even if the rules in force do not command it).

3. Be careful when travelling

Let us cover our mouth and nose with a respirator while travelling by plane, train, or bus.

4. Let's keep our distance

Let's avoid contact with strangers, keep a distance of at least two meters.

5. Avoid Humming

Let us not hug and kiss when we meet acquaintances. Let's just shake hands.

6. Let us not forget to wash our hands

Let's follow sanitary measures, often wash and disinfect our hands or wear gloves.

7. Let's get shot against Covid-19

We recommend a complete vaccination schedule - two doses of vaccine and a booster dose.

8. Protect the Most Deprived

We protect, above all, the most vulnerable groups, let us be responsible for the elderly and those with weakened immunity. Before contacting them, especially after returning from holidays, let us test ourselves, use a respirator or at least a mask.

9. Mandatory respirator

Let us respect the obligation to wear respirators in medical facilities, pharmacies, and social facilities.

10. Caution should be exercised

Let us be considerate, careful, and not put ourselves at unnecessary risk. This is even if we have experienced the disease or are not part of risk groups.
