Yellow narcissists flooded the whole of Slovakia. Also, the Minister of Health, Zuzana Dolinková, supported the 28th annual Daffodil Day today and contributed to the public-profit financial collection of the Cancer League, aimed at helping cancer patients. In Slovakia, 40 000 patients with this diagnosis will be added every year, therefore the health department aims to protect and promote public health throughout society through prevention and targeted programmes.
We are naturally owned by the ministry by the solidarity and solidarity with cancer patients, so we have long supported this collection and its noble idea. We appreciate all activities that aim to support the treatment of this disease, Zuzana Dolinková, the health minister, approached.
We have already declared in the Government's Programme Statement 2023-2027 that we will focus on preventing and minimising risk behaviour as an overarching issue and a multidisciplinary theme that is crucial for improving citizens' health and the sustainability of the health system. For example, we plan to extend screening programmes to lung, stomach and prostate screening.
Action plans of the National Cancer Programme are approved to improve the situation in Slovakia. About 40% of cancer cases can be prevented by effective strategies - notably those relating to risk factors - lifestyle, high alcohol consumption, junk eating, smoking, low physical activity, human exposure to carcinogenic substances and sunlight. We also actively highlight the need for prevention through a number of campaigns in cooperation with patient organisations. We also want to focus on awareness, in cooperation with the department of education, where we are preparing a so-called Health to raise awareness, but especially prevention of these diseases, especially among young people.
Employees and visitors were able to support cancer patients in the atrium of the Ministry of Health, where students had their opinion and at the same time could be informed about prevention and healthy lifestyle issues.
