In Slovakia, other new clinics of general doctors for adults and pediatricians' ambulances are being developed, supported by the resources of the Recovery and Resilience Plan. Depending on the region, the doctor may receive a non-refundable allowance of up to 80 000 euros in an ambulance. In the second round of the call, the health department significantly simplified application and conditions, which increased the interest of doctors. The challenge remains open.
The first call from the Recovery and Resilience Plan originated last year with a total of 22 ambulances, including 15 ambulances of general practitioners and 7 paediatricians. On the second round, the Ministry significantly simplified the conditions, extended the range of possible applicants and increased the amount to be applied for. Depending on the region's classification, it is between 60 and 80 000 euros.
Under the Call Financial support for new and existing general outpatient care providers to set up general offices in the missing areas. 66 applications have been submitted to date, of which 47 have successfully met the conditions. Of which 34 are general practitioners' applications and 13 are paediatrics' applications. In 22 applications, a contract has already been signed and others are in process. Two of the applications submitted were withdrawn before the contract was signed.
Minister for Health Zuzana Dolinková recalled the importance of general offices as a basic pillar of patient care. The possibility of funding under this call is part of the measures to stabilise the out-patient sector. This form motivates doctors to open offices especially in regions where the situation with the number of doctors is worst, said the Minister for Health that the number of applicants will increase.
–The recovery plan will invest €1.4 billion in Slovak health. The funding is intended for large hospitals as well as such smaller projects. Contribution to new offices helps people directly in the most vulnerable regions, approached Peter Kmec, Deputy Prime Minister for the Recovery and Resilience Plan. As he added, he is pleased that this challenge is successful and believes that it will significantly help improve general healthcare in Slovakia.
