The Ministry of Health draws attention to the short-term lack of an antiviral medicinal product containing the active substance molnupiravir (Lagevrio 200 mg) for dispensing in public pharmacies on the basis of a prescription or e-recipe issued to physicians in the specialised field of general medicine or by physicians specialising in another specialization field. It is still available in hospital pharmacies and for administration in emergency reception ambulances. The medicinal product intended for patients at risk of severe COVID-19 monnupiravir (Lagevrio 200 mg) disease may also be indicated by a general physician to patients at risk under established conditions. The patient is required to have a positive test result as well as to be assigned to persons at increased risk of severe course. However, there is currently a considerable amount of medicine available through public pharmacies. However, it is available in hospital pharmacies and emergency reception ambulances.
The health department is dealing intensively with the situation. Based on the decision of the treating physician, treatment with Veclura 100 mg as outpatient care may also be indicated for patients at increased risk for severe COVID-19 disease.
