On Thursday 17 January 2023, Minister of Health of the Slovak Republic Zuzana Dolinková discussed online with Minister of Health of Ukraine Viktor Liashka. It presented the extent of healthcare provided to displaced persons from Ukraine in Slovakia, described the humanitarian aid provided and discussed key topics of mutual cooperation and its legal framework in the course of the discussion.
Minister Dolinková expressed support for Ukraine in the current unprecedented situation. They discussed the content of a number of documents that we rely on for mutual cooperation.
The minister said at the meeting that one of the most flexible ways of cooperating between our countries is to transfer knowledge. I believe that the importance of sharing expertise and experience is crucial for building more resilient health care systems, enhancing professionalism, commitment and skills of health professionals, said Zuzana Dolink.
Dolinková also explained to her colleague that from January 2023, all Ukrainian children under 18 years old have full insurance coverage for health care except for spa and rehabilitation treatments. Since September last year, this also applies to all Ukrainian displaced persons. It also described the steps taken by the department to facilitate the recognition of health workers' education. The minister approached her colleague's activities so far in humanitarian aid to Ukraine, including donated vehicles for emergency medical services, as well as other projects under preparation.
Minister for Health of Ukraine Viktor Liashko thanked Slovakia for helping and supporting and appreciated our actions not only in providing health care.
