The Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic (MZ SR) actively and transparently treats public procurement in the resort. In response to the initiative of the employees of the Slovak Ministry of Health Kamil Šaško, who drew attention to possible irregularities in the assessment and implementation of public procurement, as well as in order to maintain the highest standards of transparency and economy, Kamil Šaško ordered an internal audit of relevant public procurement for the last period.
Our goal is absolute transparency and zero tolerance to any errors. The public must be assured that public resources are dealt with as economically and efficiently as possible in the health sector. That is why I immediately ordered a comprehensive internal audit to examine the processes and contracts that are the subject of questions. If any errors are proven, I'll take material and personnel responsibility from them, stated the Minister of Health Kamil Šaško following the suggestions of employees of MZ SR who were informed by his office before Christmas after meeting with employees submitting the complaint.
MZ SR stresses that in public procurement the assessments of the Department of Specifications and Price Maps are informative. In final decision-making on the outcome of a public procurement procedure, the GMPs and the Responsible Directors must also take into account other important factors which may not be fully reflected in the price maps. For example, the assessment of infrastructure as critical, taking into account the specificities of the Slovak market and inflation, and ensuring compatibility with existing systems.
The health department is actively examining whether the procurements in question have been carried out in accordance with the law, with the main objective being to ensure economy and efficiency.
