Minister for Health Kamil Šaško today, together with representatives of all four medical faculties in the Slovak Republic and the student community, officially presented the project "MediFutura " Your future is in Slovakia. It is the first project in history, which connects the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic with all universities that educate future doctors and dentists. Its main objective is to motivate medical professionals to stay at home, in Slovakia, after graduation.
We want to send a clear signal that young doctors are key to Slovak health. We need them to build a quality health care system. We can offer them a perspective, conditions and support, right here where they decided to become doctors, said Minister of Health Kamil Šaško.
The event MediFutura will take place on 25th September 2025 at the Incheba Exhibition Centre in Bratislava and its ambition is to personally address approximately 1 700 medics from all over Slovakia. Students will thus be provided with practical information, inspiration and personal contacts that will better guide them when deciding on their next career. Hospitals, outpatients, research workplaces, public institutions and the private sector will participate. The programme will be divided into three main blocks: practical orientation, innovation and research and presentation of the health sector.
We want to show young doctors that they have a future in Slovakia. We have an important interest in your work, we care about your professional growth and progress. We create conditions so that young medical professionals can develop their careers in Slovakia. It was here that their life's decision was born, that they would be doctors, that they would heal and save lives in our country. Here they are studying, here for the first time they are standing at the patient's bed and providing medical care. And that's where their parents, grandparents, neighbors, friends and all patients need them. underlined Minister Kamil Šaško.
The event will be held under the auspices of the Ministry of Health. Admission for all medical students will be free of charge, while medical faculties will give them dean leave. Registration will be possible through the QR code and registration form distributed by faculties as well as personally on the day of the event after the ISIC card is demonstrated. The Health Department will inform on the start of the registration in a timely manner.
