This Thursday, April 23, 2026 will take place at the Incheba EXPO Exhibition Centre next year of the unique event "MediFutura " Your future is in Slovakia - We are one team" On the area of almost 10,000 m2 we welcome more than 100 exhibitors from the whole health sector. On one day, representatives of state hospitals, private health care providers, specialised workplaces, insurance companies, state institutions, municipalities, secondary schools and universities, spas, laboratories and all those who make up our health sector will meet here. National event organized The Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic is focused on all health professions this time, with the exception of medical, which included the event in September.
The medi Futura is truly unique not only in the fact that the entire health sector meets under one roof, but precisely in the fact that pupils and students get many valuable information and contacts. Above all, it is an ideal opportunity to express our appreciation and appreciation for their future in Slovakia. Because someday, our parents, our children, our loved ones will take care of us, and I do my best to create adequate conditions for them. This is my commitment to the health sector as well as to the citizens of Slovakia. Medics are one team, they form one organism, where they can't function without each other, and only together can they take good care of patients, said Health Minister Kamil Šaško.
Four halls await visitors with professional and interactive lectures on 2 large and 4 small stages. Discussion panels will focus on addressing the shortage of health workers, ageing of the workforce, going abroad, as well as preparing graduates and motivating young people to stay in the sector. Among the discussers are many important representatives of the health sector, such as Minister of Health Kamil Šaško, State Secretary of the Slovak Republic MZ Michal Štofko, Counselor of the Minister of Health Lenka Lučanská, Director of the Health Education Department Janka Hogh, Director of FNsP F.D.Roosevelta in Banská Bystrica Miriam Lapuníková, President of the Association of Private Doctors Marián Šoth, President of the Office for Health Supervision Michal Palkovič, President of the Slovak Chamber of Sisters and Midwives Iveta Lazorová, Doctor and Judge Peter Kováč, or President of the Slovak Medical Chamber Ondrej Sukeľ.
There will be a debate on situations where seconds are involved, but also about those that are not just about the patient's health. We will focus on the competence of health professionals, career development, specialisation, certification and real growth potential in the system. We also pay attention to the consequences of underestimating prevention, looking into the world of laboratories, imaging methods and modern technologies. Visitors will learn how the health care system works in the field and who ensures the quality of the results, where the role of the pharmacist is shifted. Neither can we avoid digitisation and the patient who comes in armed with information from the Internet or AI. Communication as a key tool for treatment, empathy and confidence building will also be part of the debate.
The aim of the event, which is officially opened by the Minister of Health Kamil Šaško on 23 April 2026 at 11.00, is to make the health professions more attractive, to restore their social status, seriousness and prospects for a long-term career in Slovakia. Health cannot work without health professionals. MediFutura creates a space where these professions are visible, respected and supported.
MediFutura was created as an idea to bring together the entire health sector - to create an area where students, experts, institutions and employers meet with one common goal: to find solutions for the future of health in Slovakia and to this future all health professions belong.
