The motto of the ceremonial gala was the culmination of the MediFutura event on Thursday, September 25, 2025. Minister of Health Kamil Šaško praised 15 exceptional people, mostly medical students, whose common feature is enthusiasm, commitment and desire to change health in Slovakia for the better.
Among the winners is a student of Jessenio Medical Faculty and organizer of Martin medicine, thanks to which it was collected to improve children's departments already more than 30 thousand Euro. Or Radoslav Heriban, a student of the Slovak University of Health, whose ancient love for natural science has led to recognised scientific results of examining antibiotic resistance. I have never longed to be a doctor, but today I am glad to have been inspired by the grandfather who was the doctor, and I am especially pleased to have inspiring people around me who will support me. Because doubts as to whether we have made the right decision are absolutely human, even in the medical world," says Radislav Herbiban. A student of the Faculty of Medicine of UK Tomáš Krištof also took the award as a prototype of beating sick heart to improve operating techniques, as well as Adrián Kolesár - top Slovak cardiosurgeon, head of the Clinic of Heart Surgery at the Východoslovenská Institute of Heart and Vascular Diseases in Košice, who is the author of the world modification of Ross' heart surgery, Juraj Kobyľák, a representative of the new generation of general doctors in Slovakia, whose lectures at the LF UK in Bratislava, but especially a personal example, motivate doctors not only in the choice of specialization, but especially in order to remain active in Slovakia. And the best for the end of the year, the Health Minister's prize was also taken over by Denisa Nicodemus, a unique Slovak scientist who devoted her entire professional life to radiology, the protection of public health and the impact of radiation on people, patients and doctors. It has made a significant contribution to making the lungs of patients un X-rayed unnecessarily, making mammography part of breast cancer prevention.
