The construction of the University Hospital of St. Martin reached an important milestone Þ we cemented the ceiling plate of the highest seventh aboveground floor, i.e. the roof of the hospital in the most under construction segment. On this occasion, with the participation of the President of the Slovak Republic Peter Pellegrini and the Minister of Health Kamil Šaška, a ceremony was held on the new hospital building.
Guests took a tour of the building and followed by a short briefing with the participation of Slovak opinion-forming media, which the development at the University Hospital of St. Martin regularly follows.
President Peter Pellegrini stated that he was returning to the site after more than a year, highlighting the significant progress of construction work. This is the moment when the building becomes a leader among all the large constructions of state hospitals under construction. It is the building that has achieved the greatest shift so far and is closest to meeting the milestones that are set out not only in the schedule of the construction works themselves, but also in the recovery plan, stressed.
We are standing on the threshold of an important milestone for Slovak health. said Minister of Health Kamil Šaško. I am proud to say that the construction of St. Martin's new University Hospital is progressing as planned. To date, we have successfully invested more than €170 million, representing more than 75% of the first phase budget. This progress brings us closer to the goal of a modern hospital with 660 beds, which will serve the inhabitants of Turco and Slovakia as well as provide health union students and health professionals with working conditions at the level of the 21st century.
Despite difficult weather conditions in the winter months on the main building building of UNsvM, more than 300 workers work daily. At the beginning of February the 2nd floor was completed and these days the 3rd floor is finished. At the same time, the hospital roof began to betonage on the highest seventh floor and work will follow at a high pace in the coming weeks.
Significant displacement is also visible on the perimeter of the main building. The assembly crews are gradually planting facade panels throughout the perimeter of the building. The assembly of the cladding changes the visual of the building and the project of the construction of the new hospital slowly takes the final form.

Director UNM Ján Mikler assured the guests that the milestones of the construction are fulfilled within specified deadlines. –I believe that the new University Hospital in Martin will welcome the first patients in early 2029 and become the flagship of Slovak health care, stated. State Secretary for Higher Education and Science Róbert Zsembera, dean JLF UK in Martin Andrea Čalkovská, mayor of Martin Ján Danko and member of the supervisory body of UNM Daniel Lichner took part in the ceremony of the glench.
