Last year, 180 399 insured persons decided to change their health insurance policy. To date, however, the SFO records hundreds of complaints from clients who have been overinsured on the basis of fraudulent conduct, often without their knowledge.
Unfair pre-insurance through contractors and financial agents has become a trend in recent years. At the heart of the interest ceases to be a patient, replaced by a business goal, which is worrying. And since efforts to tighten up legislation have not helped to stop these practices of individuals who benefit from public health insurance to the detriment of patients, I have decided
call on health insurance companies in Slovakia to stop trade in health.
As confirmed in their analyses by the Value for Money Unit and the Institute of Health Analysis, health insurance companies spend almost 6 million euros a year on the contract staff. This is the price for replacing less than 200 thousand insured persons, some regularly and repeatedly, precisely through "contractors" and financial intermediaries.
I wonder how many insured persons would actually change the health insurance company if they did so of their own free will, without pressure, misleading and false information, without misuse of their personal data and forgery of signatures, if the recruitment of new insured persons was carried out in a transparent and fair manner?
I believe that the quality of the insurance company does not reflect the number of insured persons, but the level of service, service and availability of quality health care.
I consider the investment in these attributes to be more beneficial than an investment in rewards for those who recruit insured persons many times illegally. The competitive environment between health insurance companies is desirable, but I expect insurance companies to overtake the service offer, not the size of the insurance business.
