As we recently reported, people in Ukraine who have fled the war on our territory can also contact the National Mental Health Support Line. Experienced psychologists also communicate in the Ukrainian language and the line remains available for war refugees. Since 15 March 2022, the Ministry of Health has also allowed calls to the National Mental Health Support Line in the Ukrainian language. The services provided by mental health professionals can also be used by refugees from Ukraine and communicate in their native language. What the health department line provides:
* Psychological counselling, crisis intervention and safe space for talking about uncertainty, concerns or psychological problems in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic and the current military conflict;
* support for health professionals (volunteers) who are overburdened and are subject to increased probability of developing stress-related psychological disorders;
* advice in managing acute stress response or symptoms of developing post-traumatic stress response to extreme stress events (e.g. war conflict in Ukraine).
Services are provided by mental health professionals - psychologists specialized in clinical psychology and psychiatrist with a certificate in psychotherapy and crisis intervention.
The line is open on working days from 14:00 to 22:00 and on weekends from 10:00 to 18:00 at 0800 193.
