The preparation of standard diagnostic and therapeutic procedures (SDTP) is the main topic of the 2nd annual interdisciplinary conference, which takes place in Bratislava on 18 October 19 October 2018. The Health Department has committed itself to defining SDTPs in a government programme statement. It is a single system of prevention, diagnosis and treatment in Slovak health care. There are many approaches to how the patient should be examined and treated. We need standard procedures based on best experience and the latest knowledge. This is the only way to ensure that every patient in Slovakia has equal and high-quality healthcare. says Health Minister Andrea Kalavská. MZ SR is working intensively on standard procedures for individual medical, non-medical and interdisciplinary fields from September 2017. To date, expert working groups have set up and for the evaluation of the Commission MZ SR for SDTP submitted 152 standard procedures, which are at the stage of completion and preparation of implementation. A total of 19 standards are currently ready for implementation, e.g. in psychiatry, nursing or radiation oncology. This process includes adoption and adaptation of clinical procedures, legislative adjustments, preparation of material and technical equipment, human resources solutions, training of professionals and further procedural changes. This is a significant shift, since it is the standard procedures that concentrate the most important and recent scientific knowledge on a particular clinical problem in a comprehensive clinical or interdisciplinary process, optimise the decision of the doctor, nurse management or other health professionals and recommend the procedure for diagnosis and adequate effective treatment, and the modification of dispensation and the introduction of comprehensive management and patient safety. stated the guarantor of the national project ŠDTP Jozef Šuvada. For healthcare professionals, the standards provide precise guidance on how to proceed in diagnosis and treatment, thus significantly improving the quality of their clinical decisions in favour of the patient. These procedures will remove outdated methods of diagnosis and treatment, suppressing doctors accustomed to non-modern practices by using them in their practice, aligning the medical-diagnostic procedure and thereby improving healthcare, said prof. MUDr. Pavol Žúbor, PhD, DSc., MBA from the Gynaecological and Birth Clinic JLF UK and UNM. In primary care, expert working groups
suggest e.g. screening for autism and abnormalities of the psychomotor development of the child during a 2-11 preventive examination. In geriatrics, experts would like to promote a multidisciplinary diagnostic procedure - a "comprehensive geriatric evaluation" which would benefit older people, as it is designed to detect somatic health, psychosocial status and functional abilities, particularly in fragile or otherwise at risk of older people. In nursing, standards are prepared with an excellent entry condition for the exercise of the competences of nurses in subsequent and long-term nursing care, added J. Shuvada. The standard procedures specify the necessary range of examinations, treatment, as well as the responsibility of individual providers. They provide support for decision-making, contribute to legal certainty in healthcare provision. The importance of standard diagnostic procedures in acute care is particularly important, said Jozef Kalužay of the IV. Internal LFUK and UNB clinic and Commissioner of MZ SR for SDTP. A uniform system of patient management, diagnosis and follow-up treatment has long been in place, for example, in Scandinavian countries, Australia, Great Britain, Switzerland, as well as in neighbouring Austria, and is now also being introduced into the health system and interdisciplinary disciplines of the Czech Republic and Hungary.MZ SR continues to prepare standard diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
