The Ministry of Health (MZ SR), in cooperation with the labor and finance departments, will pay part of the debt to the Social Insurance Institution. For the payment of outstanding debts at the end of June 2022, a package of money of almost EUR 167 million is intended.
On the basis of the material, the proposal for subsequent financial stabilisation of health facilities, which was approved by the Government of the Slovak Republic at its meeting on 1 December 2022, the Ministry of Health proceeded to the implementation of the debt relief of the Social Insurance company's claims on health insurance against medical facilities. The claim on the Social Insurance Institution, which is overdue on 30 June 2022, will be paid in accordance with the terms of the approved material. The total amount intended to pay debts to the resort facilities is EUR 166 845 258,24," said Minister Zuzana Dolinková.
The claims will be settled in the first half of August. The Ministry of Health has worked intensively with the Ministry of Finance and Labour throughout the process and the Social Insurance Office since the new government. We believe that this is one of the fundamental steps that will help to reduce the adverse economic outlook on our medical facilities. I am pleased that we are also succeeding in achieving the stated objectives in the sense of the Slovak Government's Programme Declaration 2023 - 2027,- Z. Dolinková concluded.
