In parallel, the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic launched two calls for subsidies to cover additional costs due to the increase in electricity and gas prices. Medical facilities (hospitals, ambulances) may also require reimbursement of costs. Funds are requested on a monthly basis, currently for January 2023. However, requests may also be made in summary form. An application for compensation may be made by any entity engaged in an economic activity, irrespective of its legal status and method of financing, and irrespective of its size. Applicants who fulfil the conditions specified in the calls bUde grant of 80% of eligible costs. The eligible costs for determining the amount of the subsidy shall be the product of the quantity of natural gas or electricity in MWh that the applicant, as final customer, has withdrawn in the eligible period and the price increases paid by the applicant for the unit consumed for the supply of the natural gas commodity because of the electricity expressed in euro/MWh. That price increase shall be calculated as the difference between the unit price for the delivery of the commodity paid by the applicant during the eligible period and the unit price for the supply of electricity. EUR 199/MWh or a unit price for the supply of gas at an amount EUR 99/MWh.
Formula for calculating the amount of the electricity subsidy: Amount of subsidy = consumption in MWh x (average price per MWh in EUR – 199) x 0,8
Formula for calculating the amount of the gas subsidy: Amount of subsidy = consumption in MWh x (average price per MWh in EUR – 99) x 0,8
Medical establishmentsThe essential condition for the submission of an application shall be assigned the organisation identification number (IČO) and the establishment of its own demand point for electricity or gas in the eligible period. In the event that the ambulance does not have its own sampling point, the entity-owner of the property may request compensation. They may apply for compensation to hospitals and other facilities regardless of their founder. All operators are asking for compensation for the economic sector.
