Settlement benefits for the month of July, which are not submitted to health insurance companies until August, must already include an identifier for the health record from eHealth. The obligation applies from 1 July 2026, however, for the first time until the clearance of accounts in August - Doctors have until the end of July to verify the readiness of their information systems.
–This is not an obligation against doctors. It's a system to finally give them an overview of their own patients. Don't leave it at the last minute – July is just for everyone to verify with their system supplier that everything works. If there's a problem, call us. We're not just imposing duties. We're helping to handle them. stated the Minister of Health of the SR Kamil Šaško.

What to do by the end of July

  1. Check that you have a valid and functional ePZP card (electronic health care professional card) to access eHealth.
  2. Contact your supplier of the information system and check that the system can process the health record identifier and link it to the reported healthcare.
  3. Write down every record of healthcare provided in eHealth, as has been the case so far, this obligation has been in force since 2018 and remains unchanged.
  4. For a technical problem, please contact the National Health Information Centre (NCZI), which provides both methodological and technical support. If you are unsure about the procedure or interpretation of the obligation, please contact usEscaping@health.gov.sk.

Why it matters
It links what the doctor records in the patient's medical documentation with what he reports to health insurance companies. If we want to make the right decisions on health care, we need to have quality and reliable data, added Minister Šaško. The doctor will get an overview of the healthcare provided, which will promote better coordination and follow-up of treatment. The patient can check it in his e-health book at any time.
Since July 2026, the obligation to register records in eHealth is linked to the reporting and subsequent reimbursement of health care by health insurance companies.
Phase-in

eRegistration is introduced gradually, according to the readiness of individual expertise and types of medical devices. Currently, it applies to most general and specialised outpatient care and institutional health care. Doctors receive information about eWriting continuously from the end of last year through newsletters, websites and social networks of NCZI or eBooks of health insurance companies. All information, including the FAQ, can be found at NCZI: www.eHealth.sk
