The representatives of the Kingdom of the Netherlands donated secure baths, which are specially adapted for the transport of persons requiring special treatment, on the basis of friendly bilateral relations and the increasing cooperation of the Slovak Republic. These include psychiatric patients or persons placed in detention centres. The takeover took place on Friday, December 8, 2023, at the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic. The gift was handed over in the presence of the State Secretary of the Ministry of Health of Michal Štofko to representatives of the Ministry of Security and Justice of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Jelte Penning and Sudesh Sukhraj and representative of the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Slovakia Henriette van Notten.
Bilateral cooperation between the Slovak Republic and the Netherlands is particularly active in several areas of social life as well as in health. It became even more intense after a March visit to our country by the Dutch royal couple, King William-Alexandro and Queen Maxima.
Two special vehicles have been given to Slovakia, where 7 people can be transported. Each vehicle is worth approximately 60 to 70 thousand euros, consists of 3 separate units (2+2+3 persons) and is equipped with a camera and alarm system. The Slovak Republic is only the fourth state to which these vehicles were donated and for the first time they are intended for subjects of the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic. I am pleased that cooperation with the Kingdom of the Netherlands is deepening and expanding. We started several parallel projects on which we are working intensively, whether it is a project in forensic psychiatry, psychology and detection system or a project to support the construction of a new children's cancer center in Bratislava,The State Secretary of the Ministry of Health Michal Štofko said: I would like to thank you for the vehicles provided, which will travel to P. Pinella Psychiatric Hospital in Pezinok and the Psychiatric Hospital in Hronovce.
Representatives of the Kingdom of the Netherlands have devoted this gift to our country as a co-operation between the Dutch authorities and the representative office of the Slovak Republic in The Hague in the field of repatriation of our citizens of psychiatric patients from the Netherlands to Slovakia. The Slovak Embassy in The Hague has always been helpful, professional and prompt in these repatriations.

This year there were 2 reciprocal visits of Slovak national experts in the Netherlands and the Netherlands experts in Slovakia. The Dutch had the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the scientific methods applied in this area, medical access to psychiatric patients, treatment conditions for hospitalized patients and patients treated on an outpatient basis. A separate chapter was the visit to detention facilities and familiarization with the treatment methods applied in them.foto1.jpgfoto2.jpgfoto3.jpgfoto4.jpg
